The competitive exhibition of the 24th edition of the International Environmental Film and Video Festival (FICA) received 540 film submissions. FICA 2023 will be held between the 13th and 18th of June 2023, in the city of Goiás, and is promoted by the Government of Goiás, through the State Secretariat for Culture (Secult), co-organized by the Federal University of Goiás (UFG ), through the Educational Radio and Television Foundation (RTVE).
“Registrations exceeded our expectations and even the number of registrants from last year. This shows the importance and relevance of Fica for the audiovisual market inside and outside the country”, celebrates the interim Secretary of State for Culture, Yara Nunes.
The festival will allocate more than R$ 366 thousand in prizes to audiovisual producers in the competitive exhibition. In addition to regional and national productions, FICA also received film submissions from 23 countries such as Canada, France, Portugal, the United States, among others. Of the 540 entries, 277 are from the Washington Novaes International Exhibition, 223 from the Goiano Cinema Exhibition and 40 from the Becos da Minha Terra de Curtas Vilaboenses Exhibition.
Workshops
Registration remains open for training activities during the festival. There are vacancies for five professionals with experience in the area of cinema and audiovisual production to carry out activities in the format of short courses, or workshops and script and project laboratories in person during FICA 2023. To participate, you must fill out a form on the website Fica.go.gov.br until April 28th.
FICA 2023
The 24th edition of FICA will also be held in partnership with the State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainable Development (Semad), State University of Goiás (UEG), Federal Institute of Goiás (IFG), Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) and city hall from the city of Goiás.
The program will feature competitive exhibitions, debates with big names in national and international cinema, shows, fairs and environmental activities. In addition to cultural activities, FICA 2023 will also produce a dossier that will help preserve the memory, permanence and continuity of the festival as an effective public policy in the city of Goiás.
