3 places will be offered for Local Artists and 7 for Regional Works of Arts. Value for each selected proposal, of both modalities, will be R$ 2 thousand.
Between the 9th and 16th of May, visual artists residing in the city of Goiás and the State can register to be part of the visual arts exhibition program at the 25th International Environmental Film and Video Festival (Fica), in the City of Goiás. Registration will be available on the official Fica website: https://fica.go.gov.br/ or directly through the Elenco platform, accessed via the link https://elenco.ufg.br/inscricao.
The 25th edition of the festival takes place from the 11th to the 16th of June and is organized by the Government of Goiás, through the State Secretariat for Culture (Secult), in collaboration with the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), through the Radio Foundation and Educational Television (RTVE).
The visual arts exhibition program will be divided into two categories: Modality 1 – Local Artists and Modality 2 – Regional Artworks. In the first, only proposals produced and executed by artists residing or based in the city of Goiás can participate. The second category, however, applies to works by artists from municipalities in the State of Goiás.
10 places will be offered, 3 of which will be allocated to the first category and 7 to the second category. Proposals may include artistic manifestations such as painting, sculpture, drawing, engraving, photography, video art, objects and installations. The value for each selected proposal, from both modalities, will be R$ 2 thousand.
The exhibitions will take place during the period of Fica, that is, between the 11th and 16th of June, in the Exhibition Rooms of the Museu Palácio Conde dos Arcos, in the center, with visiting hours from 9am to 7pm.
Those registered will go through the Qualification and Assessment stages with the final result expected to be announced on May 24th. All information about this selection process can be found in the Selection Notice.
Multicultural event
Fica 2024 will feature a vast free program, with competitive exhibitions, debates with big names in national and international cinema, environmental activities and cultural attractions.
The festival is supported by the Goiás Social program; of the State Secretariats for Resumption; of Science, Technology and Innovation (Secti); and Environment and Sustainable Development (Semad); Saneago; State University of Goiás (UEG), Federal Institute of Goiás (IFG); Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) and City Hall of the city of Goiás. This year the event also has as supporters the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco), National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples (Funai) and Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz).
