Preliminary list of qualified and selected candidates for Fica 2024 film evaluation committees released

The 25th edition of the festival will be held from June 11th to 16th, in the city of Goiás.

The Secretary of State for Culture (Secult) released on Thursday (29/02), the preliminary list of selected candidates who will form the evaluation committees for the films of the 25th edition of the International Environmental Film and Video Festival (Fica 2024) . The list of candidates is available on the website cast.ufg.br/editais.

According to the criteria established by the notice, 60 entries considered qualified for the Washington Novaes Exhibition and 50 for the Cinema Goiano and Becos da Minha Terra Exhibitions were evaluated. Disqualified or not selected candidates will be able to file appeals, which must be sent by March 1st, via the website: cast.ufg.br/editais.

The professionals' analyzes took as parameters their experience in the audiovisual area, as a director, screenwriter or producer; in curation and selection processes at film festivals or exhibitions, and in the academic area of audiovisual teaching and research. In the selection process, among other factors, balance and representation of gender and race is also ensured.

The final result of the proposals will be announced on March 4th, on the festival website (cast.ufg.br/editais), after completing the analysis of all possible appeals filed.

FICA 2024

The festival, one of the most important and representative of the audiovisual segment in the world, will be held from the 11th to the 16th of June, in the city of Goiás. The 25th edition of Fica is promoted by the Government of Goiás, through Secult, co-organized by the University Federal Government of Goiás (UFG), through the Educational Radio and Television Foundation (RTVE), in partnership with the State Secretariats for Resumption and Environment and Sustainable Development (Semad), State University of Goiás (UEG), Federal Institute of Goiás (IFG), Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) and City Hall of the city of Goiás.

In addition to the competitive film screenings, the festival program will include debates, workshops and environmental activities, as well as cultural attractions, all free of charge.
