Secult Goiás publishes preliminary list of qualified and selected candidates for FICA 2023 film evaluation committees

The Secretary of State for Culture (Secult) released, this Friday (14/4), the preliminary list of selected candidates who will form the evaluation committees for the films of the 24th edition of the International Environmental Film and Video Festival (FICA 2023 ). The result is available on the website Fica.go.gov.br.

The event received 92 entries made via notice, for two commissions, 63 for the Washington Novaes Show and 29 for the Cinema Goiano and Becos da Minha Terra shows.

Experience in audiovisual production, as director, screenwriter or producer, was evaluated; in curation and selection processes at other film festivals or exhibitions, and in the academic area of audiovisual teaching and research. In the selection process, among other factors, balance and representation of gender and race is also ensured.

Disqualified or non-selected candidates will be able to file appeals, which must be sent by email to Fica@goias.gov.br, with the subject of the email stating: “Public Call 01/2023 – Reasons for Appeal”, and the decisions will be announced by email to interested parties, and also on the FICA websites (Fica.go.gov.br) and the RTVE Foundation (www.rtve.org.br).

The final result of the proposals will be published on the festival websites (Fica.go.gov.br) and the RTVE Foundation (www.rtve.org.br), after completing the analysis of all possible appeals filed.

FICA 2023

The festival, one of the most important in the audiovisual segment in the world, will be held from the 13th to the 18th of June, in the city of Goiás. The 24th edition of FICA is organized by the Government of Goiás, through Secult, co-organized by the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), through the Educational Radio and Television Foundation (RTVE), in partnership with the State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainable Development (Semad), State University of Goiás (UEG), Federal Institute of Goiás (IFG) , Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) and City Hall of the city of Goiás.

The program will feature competitive exhibitions, debates with big names in national and international cinema, shows, fairs and environmental activities. In addition to cultural activities, FICA 2023 will also feature the production of a dossier that will help preserve the memory, permanence and continuity of the festival as an effective public policy in the city of Goiás.
