Designed and produced by Emiliano Freitas, an artist from the city of Goiás, the creation of the trophy for the 25th edition of the International Environmental Film and Video Festival (Fica) involved a process that integrated manual and digital techniques with the use of biodegradable, recyclable, 100% material. biocompatible, compostable and bioabsorbable, to reflect the event’s theme “Technology, Innovation and Climate Change”.
Fica is carried out by the Government of Goiás, through the State Secretariat for Culture (Secult), in co-organization with the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), through the Educational Radio and Television Foundation (RTVE). The festival continues with programming in the city of Goiás until next Sunday (16/06).
Every year, the festival chooses a local artist to create the trophy, as a way of valuing the city's artistic production. According to Emiliano, the creative process sought references in Ipê, a symbolic tree of the Cerrado with its twisted branches.
The artist used manual modeling to sculpt an ipê fork. The trophy then went through the photogrammetry process, where multiple photographs of the sculpture were taken from different angles to create a detailed digital model. Finally, with the virtual model finalized, the trophy was produced using 3D printing with PLA filament, chosen precisely for its ecological properties.
“The design of the trophy was carefully thought out to facilitate handling and transport, presenting an appropriate shape and weight for this purpose.
The creation of this trophy sought to make it a symbol of recognition that also reflects a commitment to respect and preservation of the environment”, defines Emiliano.
