Training is aimed at audiovisual professionals and other interested parties. Activity is part of the festival's affirmative actions, in partnership with the Association of Black Audiovisual Professionals (APAN)
The workshop “From Idea to Script for Black Professionals” is one of the highlights of the training activities of the 25th International Environmental Film and Video Festival (Fica). The initiative is carried out in partnership with the Association of Black Audiovisual Professionals (APAN) and is part of the festival's affirmative actions in this edition. The workshop is still accepting registrations and will take place between the 12th and 14th, from 8:30 am to 12 pm, free of charge.
Fica is carried out by the Government of Goiás, through the State Secretariat for Culture (Secult), in co-organization with the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), through the Educational Radio and Television Foundation (RTVE). The festival takes place in the city of Goiás from June 11th to 16th.
According to the president of APAN, Tatiana Carvalho Costa, one of the main objectives of this workshop, which is unprecedented, is to show the diversity of audiovisual production outside the Rio-São Paulo axis, in addition to strengthening audiovisual productions led by black people, as well such as promoting these professionals to the audiovisual market, which is, according to Tatiane, one of the association's missions.
“Strengthen, from a technical point of view, good ideas for films, series and other audiovisual formats. It is a workshop for projects to gain strength to even compete for other initiatives, such as notices. Also creating a collective experience to strengthen people, mainly because we live in a racist society that excludes us, we also think about working on people's self-esteem and appreciation”, explains the president.
Tatiana highlights black audiovisual production in the state and the importance of actions like this in a festival that discusses cross-cutting themes relevant to the black population: “The invitation to participate in Fica came at a super opportune moment for us, because it meets our I want to be more present with people who do audiovisual work and who are black in Goiás, understanding this diversity of the Brazilian black population and the relevance of the festival, and the Central-West is a very important region for us”, he states.
