There are five fully electric cars with hybrid technology to transport people related to the organization. Action is part of this edition's sustainability activities.
The 25th edition of the International Environmental Film and Video Festival (Fica) has electric cars made available by Build Your Dreams (BYD) to help transport people related to the organization of the event and also to Test drive. The action is part of the sustainability activities of this edition, which is considered the most sustainable of all festivals.
Fica is carried out by the Government of Goiás, through the State Secretariat for Culture (Secult), in co-organization with the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), through the Educational Radio and Television Foundation (RTVE).
Five fully electric cars with hybrid technology are available and will be in service until the end of the event, next Sunday, (16/06). Eudy Sampaio, Commercial Manager at BYD, reinforces the importance of sustainability actions like this in a festival with an environmental theme: “Events on environmental themes need sustainable actions and activities. Electric cars help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution, contributing to a cleaner environment”, he highlights.
Several other environmental preservation actions are being carried out in the city of Goiás. In addition to electric cars, greenhouse gas emissions are also being calculated during the festival for subsequent compensation through the planting of trees. Selective waste collection actions by the municipality's recycling cooperative, distribution of trash cans, revitalization of the Chapéu de Padre stream area, in addition to awareness-raising and training activities, such as workshops, short courses and workshops with an environmental theme complete the activities. There was also a reduction of 40% in the printing of promotional material for this edition and what was printed was made with paper and other recyclable items.

Multicultural event
Fica 2024 has a vast free program, with competitive exhibitions, debates with big names in national and international cinema, environmental activities and cultural attractions.
The festival is supported by the Goiás Social program; of the State Secretariats for Resumption; of Science, Technology and Innovation (Secti); and Environment and Sustainable Development (Semad); Saneago; State University of Goiás (UEG), Federal Institute of Goiás (IFG); Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) and Goiás City Hall. This year the event also has as supporters the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco), The Nature Conservancy, MapBiomas, Museu Nacional dos Povos Indigenous/Funai, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), Kelldrin Group and Saga BYD.
